Arquidiocese celebra Assembleia de Pastoral

The Archdiocese of São José do Rio Preto held a decentralized pastoral assembly consisting of nine meetings across various deaneries to receive its first Plano Arquidiocesano de Pastoral. Archbishop Antonio Emidio Vilar, sdb, attended the presentations on September 12 at the Forania Santo Antonio de Pádua and at the recently created deanery in the northern region.

The plan follows the Diretrizes Gerais da Ação Evangelizadora da Igreja no Brasil and establishes four mission paths: (1) Iniciação à Vida Cristã, (2) Comunidades de Discípulos Missionários, (3) Liturgia e Piedade Popular, and (4) Fragilidades Humanas e Casa Comum. The Dimensão Bíblica will be integrated into all segments.

The assembly resulted from work by a commission led by priests Luiz Caputo and Fábio Dungue, with assistance from Ir. Rosângela Fontoura and other agents. Following the meetings, leaders were sent to implement the suggested activities and schedule. Mário Oliveira, coordinator of the Pastoral do Menor, stated that the goal is to share the plan with more people by presenting Jesus Christ.
