Arquidiocese de São José do Rio Preto promove atualização do Clero

Priests of the Archdiocese of São José do Rio Preto attended a theological update meeting on September 9 and 10 at the São José Pastoral Center. Auxiliary Bishop Antonio Luiz Catelan Ferreira of the Archdiocese of São Sebastião do Rio de Janeiro led the sessions, which focused on ecclesiology to deepen understanding of the nature, mission, and identity of the Church.

The training addressed the Church's relationship with Christ, its mission to announce the Gospel, and the importance of synodality. Archbishop Antonio Emidio Vilar participated in the reflections and shared discussions with the priests. Bishop Catelan stated that this annual theological formation provides priests and deacons with tools to reflect on issues relevant to Church life and pastoral ministry.

The meeting also addressed the reception of the new Diretrizes Gerais da Ação Evangelizadora da Igreja no Brasil proposed by the CNBB. Bishop Catelan noted that these guidelines serve as an expression of communion between particular churches rather than an attempt to make all dioceses uniform.
