Ars Venerables offers first textile restoration course in its Sala Capitular

Ars Venerables held its first textile restoration course from September 9 to 11 in the Sala Capitular of the former Convent of the Santísima Trinidad. The 21-hour theoretical and practical course focused on the knowledge and application of Lanaset synthetic dyes for textile restoration.

Sofía Fernández, a textile restorer from Madrid, taught the course. Participants studied different types of colorants, their relationship with various textile fibers, and the factors that can modify results during dyeing processes.

The Ars Venerables project was launched in 2025 by the Archdiocese of Burgos and Batea Restauraciones. The project uses the restored church and Sala Capitular, located near the headquarters of Cáritas Burgos, as a space for the conservation and restoration of heritage and the training of professionals.
