At age 20, new DRE ready to inspire in Carneys Point

Glendy Ramirez has been named the new director of religious education for Saint Gabriel the Archangel Parish in Carneys Point.

Ramirez has been a member of the Saint Gabriel community since the 2010 merger between the parish and Saint James in Penns Grove. Her previous experience includes serving as a Eucharistic minister, participating in the parish choir, and assisting with religious education classes since she was 14 years old. She also completed the Diocese of Camden’s School of Discipleship.

Ramirez attended Guardian Angels Regional School in Gibbstown and Camden Catholic High School in Cherry Hill. She is currently studying diagnostic medical sonography in college. She stated that her goal is to encourage teenagers and young adults to participate more actively in their parishes.
