Pope Leo XIV receives Federation of Capuchin Poor Clares of Italy

Pope Leo XIV met with the Assembly of the Federation of Capuchin Poor Clares of Italy at the Vatican Apostolic Palace on September 21, 2026.

During the audience, the Pope commended the sisters for their work in revising and updating their Constitutions. He noted that these updated documents include contributions from many members and reaffirm that the primary task of all religious is the contemplation of divine realities and constant prayer.

The Pope described the federation's response to its calling as one of fidelity to the Gospel through poverty, contemplative prayer, and the charism of Saint Francis and Saint Clare.
