Azzardo online, l’allarme nei piccoli Comuni toscani

Small towns in Tuscany are experiencing high levels of online gambling despite the region's overall figures remaining below the national average. A report titled "Non così piccoli. Azzardo, un problema in più per i piccoli Comuni italiani," released by Fondazione Isscon, Federconsumatori, and Cgil, highlights that specific small municipalities face high per capita gambling spending.

The study examined 3,146 municipalities with populations between 2,000 and 10,000 residents. In Tuscany, there were 314 active online gambling accounts for every 1,000 residents aged 18 to 74. The regional average per capita spending for remote gambling was 1,896.26 euros, while the weighted average for municipalities with 2,000 to 9,999 inhabitants was 1,859.14 euros.

In the territories considered, 34.7 billion euros were wagered through physical and online gambling in 2025, resulting in 4.6 billion euros in losses. Tuscany ranks 14th among the 20 regions, with a per capita average below the national average of 2,365.81 euros.
