Balasar: Santuário será dedicado a 11 de outubro acolhendo o legado espiritual da Beata Alexandrina

The Archdiocese of Braga will dedicate the new Eucharistic Sanctuary of Balasar on Sunday, October 11. The ceremony to dedicate the church and altar will be led by the Apostolic Nuncio to Portugal, Andrés Carrascosa Coso, at 16:00.

Celebrations begin on Saturday, October 10, with the transfer of the remains of Alexandrina Maria da Costa. Archbishop José Cordeiro of Braga will preside over this ceremony. The sanctuary was designed to accommodate thousands of pilgrims and involved a financial investment of about 14 million euros.

The sanctuary rector, Manuel Casado Neiva, stated that the building's architecture and pastoral design center on the Eucharist, the Cross, and a relationship with Our Lady to reflect the spiritual experience of Blessed Alexandrina. Archbishop Cordeiro noted that the new space carries a pastoral responsibility to ensure visitors find an open door and people willing to listen.
