Basílica: construcción de paz interior y terrenal

Pope Leo XIV has granted a Guadalupan Jubilee Year to mark the 50th anniversary of the Basilica of Guadalupe. The jubilee will run from October 12, 2026, until October 12, 2027.

The Basilica, designed by architect Pedro Ramírez Vázquez and collaborators including friar Gabriel Chávez de la Mora, celebrated its 50th anniversary following the October 12, 1976, transfer of the image of the Virgin of Guadalupe to the new sanctuary. Canon Daniel Víctor Villalobos Ortiz, the recently appointed rector of the temple, provides pastoral leadership at the site.
