Basílica de São Pedro: instalação com 1.096 sons lembra as vítimas das guerras

St. Peter's Basilica hosted a sound installation titled "Sounds of Loss" on Monday, September 21, to mark the United Nations International Day of Peace. Created by German director Philip Gröning, the installation features 1,096 individually recorded sounds played at irregular intervals over a 49-hour period.

Each sound represents a person killed in war conflicts. De Mendonça described the work as an invitation to responsibility, while Ruffini noted that every sound represents an untold story or a silenced voice. The installation was located in the atrium of the Vatican Basilica.
