Bishop Bambera to celebrate Respect Life Sunday Mass on Oct. 4 at Cathedral

Bishop Joseph C. Bambera will celebrate Respect Life Sunday Mass at 10:00 a.m. on Oct. 4 at the Cathedral of Saint Peter in Scranton. The Diocese of Scranton invites the public to attend the liturgy, which marks the beginning of Respect Life Month.

The theme for the 2026 celebration is Mary, Mother of Life. According to the diocese, the theme uses the life of the Blessed Mother to teach respect for human life in all stages and circumstances, noting her role from the Annunciation to the Crucifixion.

People unable to attend the Mass in person can watch the live broadcast on Catholic Television of the Diocese of Scranton or the diocese's YouTube channel. The Mass will also be livestreamed on the Diocese of Scranton website, with links available on the diocese's social media platforms.
