Bishop Belmiro Cuica Chissengueti opens pilgrimage at Muxima Shrine

Bishop Belmiro Cuica Chissengueti opened the 2026 annual pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception of Muxima during a Mass on Thursday, September 4.

During the Eucharistic celebration in the Diocese of Viana, the Bishop of Cabinda told pilgrims to turn their faith into concrete action by standing with those in deep vulnerability. He said the Christian journey must bear fruit in society and encouraged the faithful to ensure their experience at the shrine influences how they respond to the needs of people in their communities.

Bishop Chissengueti urged the pilgrims to push forward for justice and care for social justice. He stated that building a better society requires active participation in addressing social challenges.
