Bishop Bernardus Bofitwos Baru dedicates Catholic Church in Idakebo

Bishop Bernardus Bofitwos Baru dedicated the Santa Maria Ratu Rosario Idakebo Catholic Church on Wednesday, October 7, 2026. The ceremony in the Diocese of Timika included the local community, priests, and those involved in the construction of the building.

The dedication began with a procession from the rectory to the church building. During the rites, Bishop Baru blessed water and salt at the entrance before cutting a ribbon. After the building committee handed the church over to the bishop, he opened the doors to signify the building's use for worship, the Word of God, and the Eucharist.
