Bishop Bibi presides over Requiem Mass for Mama Lolo Maria Nwanyi

Bishop Michael Bibi presided over the Requiem Mass for Maria Nwanyi on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Holy Family Parish in Newtown-Limbe. Nwanyi was the mother of Father James Chikezie, the dean of the Limbe Deanery.

The funeral service for the late Catholic Women Association member included family, friends, and clergy. During his homily, Bishop Bibi told the congregation that death serves as a pathway to resurrection through Christ. He advised the faithful to live each day prepared to meet God due to the uncertainty of human life.

Bishop Bibi encouraged the community to make spiritual choices through repentance, penance, and reconciliation. He also urged people to avoid delaying their service to God and to seek peace with others. Addressing the grieving family, the bishop suggested they follow the example of Job.
