Bishop Dempsey: We need to ask, ‘What kind of Ireland am I helping to build?’

Bishop Paul Dempsey told participants at the conclusion of the Walk the Cross Eucharistic procession that they must consider what kind of Ireland they are helping to build. Speaking at a Mass in Croke Park on September 27, the bishop addressed people who had traveled from across the country to participate in the event.

The procession concluded in Croke Park on a day traditionally known as All Ireland Sunday. Many participants had been walking since Friday, covering 33 miles starting from Kildare to honor the Lord. Bishop Dempsey noted that the experience of walking together reflects the synodal model, suggesting that the Cross is something to journey with rather than just a burden to carry.
