Bishop Don Sproxton celebrates Marriage Day Mass

Auxiliary Bishop Don Sproxton celebrated the 2026 Marriage Day Mass at St Mary’s Cathedral on Saturday, August 29. During his homily, Bishop Sproxton described marriage as a sacred covenant and noted that the Mass serves as an occasion for couples to give thanks for their individual and shared growth.

Auxiliary Bishop Nelson Po joined Bishop Sproxton in concelebrating the Mass. Other priests participating in the liturgy included Father Emil Ciecierega SDS from Greenmount Parish, Father Joel Villanueva OSJ from the Bunbury Diocese, and Father Robert O’Bryan from the Geraldton Diocese. Bishop Sproxton told the gathered couples that sharing in the journeys of families is one of the most rewarding aspects of the priesthood.
