Bishop George Nkuo marks 20 years of episcopal ministry

Bishop George Nkuo of the Catholic Diocese of Kumbo celebrated 20 years of episcopal ministry during a thanksgiving Mass on Tuesday, September 8.

During the celebration, Bishop Nkuo thanked members of the St. Augustine’s College community for joining him in prayer. He noted that the anniversary provided a chance to reflect on his two decades as a bishop. He reminded those in attendance that the celebration of the Eucharist should remain centered on Jesus Christ rather than on the bishop himself.

Bishop Nkuo also shared a prayer to renew his entrustment of his priesthood to the Virgin Mary. Reflecting on images of Mary at Bethlehem and during the suffering of Christ, he asked for the grace to ensure his ministry remains focused on service and liberation for the people he serves.
