Bishop Heiner Wilmer calls on European churches to listen more

Bishop Heiner Wilmer of Münster is calling on European local churches to improve mutual listening and avoid acting in isolation when implementing ecclesial reforms. Speaking to Vatican Radio during the Shaping Synodality in Europe symposium near Wels, Austria, the president of the German Bishops' Conference stated that the culture of listening must continue to develop within the global Church's synodal process.

Wilmer emphasized that synodality requires the universal Church to walk together rather than allowing individual local churches to rush ahead with independent reforms. He spoke at the event held at Schloss Puchberg in Upper Austria.
