Bishop José Antonio Satué presides over the Eucharist in Melilla

Bishop José Antonio Satué presided over a Mass at the Sacred Heart parish in Melilla on Saturday, September 19, to mark the beginning of new pastoral assignments. During the celebration, José Luis Pastor took possession as the new parish priest and episcopal vicar.

Pastor joined three other priests and permanent deacon Fernando Moreno to form a five-member team serving the Church in Melilla. Before his oath, Pastor expressed his desire to serve the community and thanked God for the opportunity. He also thanked his predecessor, Eduardo Resa, for his work in the city over the last eight years.

The community and the parish council expressed gratitude to Eduardo Resa during his final Mass, which was attended by the President of the Autonomous City, Juan José Imbroda. The Mass was concelebrated by both the departing and arriving priests.
