Bishop Kwak: Faith always begins with an encounter, even in the age of artificial intelligence

Germanus Kwak Jin-Sang, auxiliary bishop of the Diocese of Suwon in South Korea, stated that faith in Jesus arises from real encounters, even during the age of artificial intelligence.

The bishop shared these views during an interview in Rome while attending a formation course for new bishops. The course, organized by the Dicastery for Evangelization, began on September 2 at the Pontifical College of St. Peter the Apostle.

Bishop Kwak also expressed his hope for meaningful interactions between Korean families and the young people attending the 2027 World Youth Day in Seoul when those participants stay in local homes. He currently serves as the president of the Bioethics Committee for the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Korea.
