Bishop Lorca Planes reopens San Roque hermitage

Bishop José Manuel Lorca Planes presided over the blessing of the San Roque hermitage in Fortuna to reopen the site for religious services. The reopening follows a six year rehabilitation process.

During the celebration, the image of the town's patron, Saint Roque, was carried in procession from the Parish of the Purísima back to the hermitage. Parish priest Juan Carlos Ponce noted that the event saw large crowds and described the restoration work as an impeccable effort by the team in charge of the project.

In his reflection, Bishop Lorca Planes invited the community to view the life of Saint Roque with joy and to see holiness as something attainable. Ponce stated that the hermitage holds special importance for the identity of the people in Fortuna.
