Bishop Luciano Paolucci Bedini presides over the Feast of the Translation of St. Ubaldo

Bishop Luciano Paolucci Bedini presided over the solemn celebration for the Feast of the Translation of St. Ubaldo on Friday, September 11, at the Basilica. The festivities included a procession on the evening of September 10 that traveled from the Cathedral to the Basilica.

During his homily, Bishop Paolucci Bedini described the death of St. Ubaldo as a major turning point for the people of Gubbio and the diocese. He noted that while the saint's death initially caused confusion and discouragement among the faithful, it quickly led to his recognition as a saint and a witness to God's mercy. The bishop suggested that climbing the mountain serves as a way to learn to view life through the eyes of God.
