Bishop Nicolas Brouwet defends synodality

Bishop Nicolas Brouwet of Nîmes defended the practice of synodality as a way to make the Church more missionary.

Speaking amid a crisis of confidence within the Church, Brouwet noted that many people feel fatigue, doubt the intentions behind the process, or feel that promises have not been kept. He argued that synodality should help the Church community listen more closely to what the Holy Spirit says in the hearts of the faithful, particularly among new believers.
