Bishop of Getafe baptizes 15 children rescued from abortion
Bishop Ginés García Beltrán baptized 15 children at the Santo Cristo de la Misericordia parish in Boadilla del Monte on Saturday. The children are sons of women who chose to continue their pregnancies after receiving support from the Más Futuro Association and the Rescatadores Juan Pablo II.
Volunteers from these organizations accompanied the bishop during the celebration. According to the Diocese, the event holds special meaning for Más Futuro as the association approaches 9,000 rescues. Marta Velarde, president of Más Futuro, noted that the baptism is one step in a long process of spiritual and personal reconstruction for women. The association uses its Proyecto Caminando to support women dealing with the consequences of post-abortion syndrome.
Among the children baptized was the son of a 23-year-old woman who has undergone five abortions and has been supported by the association for six years.
