Bishop of Huelva ordains 2 new deacons

Bishop Santiago Gómez Sierra ordained two new deacons for the Diocese of Huelva on Saturday, September 12.

The ordination ceremony took place at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Mercy for seminarians Domingo Tejero Díaz and Yerso José Parra Altuve. During the homily, Bishop Gómez Sierra spoke about the diaconate as a ministry of service. He told the new deacons to live their roles through prayer, humility, and availability.

The bishop encouraged Tejero Díaz and Parra Altuve to be servants of communion and reminded them that administrators of God's mysteries must be faithful. He also warned against the harm caused by gossip.
