Bishop of Menorca writes letter

Bishop Gerard Villalonga of Menorca has invited the people of his diocese to participate in two upcoming events: a diocesan assembly to evaluate the Synod and his first pastoral visits to all local parishes, movements, entities, groups, and delegations.

The bishop noted that the diocesan assembly serves as preparation for the Universal Assembly of the Church scheduled for 2028. In his letter, Villalonga acknowledged that overcoming deeply rooted clericalism to change how the Church operates is a difficult and slow process. He stated that the goal is to move beyond ideas and intentions to implement concrete changes within the real life of local communities.
