Bishop Oyejola holds Opening Mass of CBCN Assembly

Bishop John Akinkunmi Oyejola hosted the opening Mass for the second plenary assembly of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) at St. Benedict Catholic Cathedral in Osogbo on Sunday, September 13, 2026. Archbishop Matthew Man-Oso Ndagoso, the CBCN president, presided over the Eucharistic celebration.

In his homily, Bishop Oyejola called for electoral integrity and divine accountability among Nigerian leaders. He stated that public office is a sacred trust under God rather than personal property or a family inheritance. The bishop urged leaders to recognize governance as stewardship and reminded them that they will ultimately answer to God for their motives and actions.
