Bishop Stuart Hall consecrated Bishop of Australia’s Military Ordinariate

Pope Leo XIV appointed Stuart Hall as the Bishop of Australia’s Military Ordinariate, and he was consecrated on Saturday, August 29, at St Patrick’s Cathedral in Melbourne. Melbourne Archbishop Peter A. Comensoli served as the principal consecrator during the Mass.

The ceremony brought together priests, laypeople, civic leaders, dignitaries, and members of the Australian defense force. Before his appointment, Hall served as the dean of St Patrick’s Cathedral, a role he began in 2023. He was also ordained a priest at the same cathedral nearly 40 years ago.
