Bishop Veres András celebrates 800th anniversary of Franciscan jubilee in Baj

Bishop Veres András celebrated the 800th anniversary of the Franciscan jubilee with a pastoral holy mass in Baj. The celebration took place at the parish church in Baj, which is one of the few churches dedicated specifically to Saint Francis of Assisi.

The Diocese of Győr noted that the church is a rarity because it serves as an independent parish church rather than a monastic church belonging to a Franciscan house. During the mass, the bishop provided a blessing for the jubilee year. The event brought together local and neighboring parish communities to honor the legacy of Saint Francis.
