Bishop’s Humanitarian Dinner Raises $1.8M for Catholic Charities Brooklyn & Queens

A humanitarian dinner held at Cipriani Wall Street on Sept. 24 raised $1.8 million for Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens. The event, which served as a fundraiser for the organization, was attended by 750 people.

Bishop Robert Brennan served as the honorary chair for the evening. During the dinner, Bishop Brennan and Father Patrick Keating presented Msgr. Alfred LoPinto with the Bishop Joseph M. Sullivan Service Award. LoPinto, who retired as president and CEO of Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens on June 30 after 13 years in the role, was recognized for his service to the organization. He was succeeded by Father Keating, the former deputy CEO.

Three individuals or groups received Bishop’s Humanitarian Awards. Stephen Rosenber, founder and CEO of the commercial real estate finance company Greystone Inc., represented one of the award winners. Msgr. Robert Romano, pastor of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Dyker Heights, emceed the event.
