Bishop’s visit to Pennington includes blessing of church, catechists

Bishop David M. O'Connell blessed the newly renovated St. James Church in Pennington during a pastoral visit on Sept. 20. During the 10 a.m. Mass, the bishop blessed the church building and its baptismal font.

Father Stephen Sansevere, the pastor, and Father Roy Ballacillo, the parochial vicar, joined the bishop at the altar. As part of the parish's observance of Catechetical Sunday, the bishop also recognized and gave a special blessing to the men and women serving in catechetical ministry.

The celebration concluded with a gathering for food and fellowship in the parish gymnasium.
