Bp Artur Ważny publishes pastoral letter

Bishop Artur Ważny of Sosnowiec published a pastoral letter for the 25th Ordinary Sunday (Year A) addressing the future of the diocese. In the letter, the bishop discusses the declining number of priests, the merging of parishes, the responsibilities of laypeople, the synod, and the need for new vocations.

Bishop Ważny urged the faithful to overcome fear and apathy, noting that emptiness and boredom can be more exhausting than hard work. He addressed the challenges facing the diocese, such as empty church pews and the fatigue of pastors, which can lead to pessimism. The bishop called on the community to move toward meaningful life in the Church to find an alternative to the absurdity of the surrounding world.
