Br Paschal celebrates 60 years of monastic life

Bishop Francis Alleyne OSB celebrated the Diamond Jubilee of Brother Paschal Jordan OSB during a Mass on September 8. The Mass, held on the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, marked 60 years of monastic profession for Brother Paschal.

During the celebration, Bishop Alleyne, the Bishop of Georgetown, Guyana, and former Abbot of Mount St. Benedict, encouraged Brother Paschal to continue using his gifts to support the Church and the Caribbean community. The Bishop compared the spiritual life to the ability of the Bajau people to breathe underwater, noting that Christians must cultivate an inner spiritual source to resist the distractions and harsh elements of the modern environment.
