Braga: Arcebispo afirmou importância da «dimensão espiritual, da fé», nas ofertas das IPSS

Archbishop José Cordeiro of Braga stated that IPSS must include a spiritual dimension and faith in their care for users. He made these remarks during a Mass held on September 18, 2026, to conclude the 11th Social Week of the União das Instituições Particulares de Solidariedade Social (UDIPSS) of Braga.

During his homily in front of the São João da Ponte chapel, the archbishop said that care provided by IPSS is incomplete without addressing spiritual needs. He suggested that inner healing is as important as medical, therapeutic, emotional, and technical care. Cordeiro also spoke about the meaning of eternity and the role of death as a part of life.

The Social Week took place from September 15 to 17 at the Fórum Braga. This year's event focused on the future of aging and social responses under the theme "Porque o tempo não para."
