Called by Name

The Diocese of Owensboro Office of Vocations is asking parishioners to identify individuals they believe may be called to the priesthood or consecrated religious life during the upcoming Called by Name Weekend on November 7 and 8, 2026. This follows National Vocation Awareness Week, which runs from November 1 to 6.

Parishes are requested to announce the program during all Masses on the weekend of All Saints Day, October 31 and November 1. To participate, parishioners can submit names of potential candidates using pew cards or an online form at the diocese's vocation website.

Those whose names are submitted will receive an invitation to an Andrew or Miriam dinner this spring. During these dinners, Bishop Medley will join participants to pray and discuss how to discern a vocation with the Church.
