Cardinal Bassetti calls Carlo Acutis a sign of hope for the Church

Cardinal Gualtiero Bassetti described Carlo Acutis as a sign of hope for the Church and a symbol of the future for young people.

The archbishop emeritus of the diocese of Perugia said that Acutis's short life served as a hymn of praise. Bassetti noted that Acutis died happy because he never wasted his time. He described the saint as a messenger sent to provide hope in the hearts of the youth and their openness to faith.
