Cardinal Parolin urges Catholics not to emigrate from the Holy Land (L'Osservatore Romano (Italian))

Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vatican Secretary of State, told Catholics in the Holy Land to remain in their region despite the ongoing conflict. During a meeting on September 16 with a group of 40 young adults from the Basilica of the Annunciation in Nazareth, Parolin encouraged them not to leave their land. He told the pilgrims to bear witness to a human identity modeled after Saint Francis.

The group, led by Deacon Diab Roshrosh, O.F.M., who oversees youth ministry at the Nazareth basilica, is currently on a pilgrimage to Rome and Assisi. During a general audience, Pope Leo greeted the Arabic-speaking pilgrims from the Nazareth parish. The Pope told the group that they are called to respect others and care for one another to build a more humane world.
