Cardinal Sergio da Rocha presides over Mass at the opening of the 60th Regional Assembly of CRB Regional Nordeste 3

Cardinal Sergio da Rocha presided over the opening Mass for the 60th Regional Assembly of the Conference of Religious of Brazil (CRB) Regional Nordeste 3 in Salvador. The assembly, which runs from September 12 to 13, focuses on the theme of consecrated religious life being called to be born again.

During his homily, Cardinal da Rocha, the Archbishop of São Salvador da Bahia, compared religious congregations and individual vocations to trees. He stated that members should examine the fruits of their own lives, missions, and communities to understand their impact. He added that religious life is not lived in isolation and that being together helps produce these fruits.

The Cardinal also noted that communities can overcome challenges when their vocations are built on faith in God and Christ. The assembly uses the story of Nicodemus as a guide for its reflections.
