Cardinal Timothy Dolan Celebrates Mass of the Holy Spirit at Sacred Heart Parish in Yonkers

Cardinal Timothy Dolan celebrated the Mass of the Holy Spirit at Sacred Heart Parish in Yonkers on September 18 to mark the start of the school year. The archbishop-emeritus joined Father Robert Abbatiello, who serves as the pastor of the parish and president of Sacred Heart Schools, for the liturgy.

During his homily, Cardinal Dolan praised the faculty and staff of the Sacred Heart Schools for their dedication and talent. He noted that the school and parish are located on a hilltop, which he compared to the biblical teaching that a city on a hill cannot be hidden. He expressed his admiration for the teachers and their zeal for education.

Students, parents, and faculty attended the Mass to hear the cardinal speak about Catholic education within the archdiocese. Principal Kyle O’Donnell stated that celebrating Mass with the cardinal was an ideal way to begin the academic year.
