Carmelite Missionary Beatrice D'Cunha leads contemplation exercises

Carmelite Missionary Beatrice D'Cunha will lead contemplation exercises at the Santa Teresa Casa de Espiritualidad in Es Cubells from September 24 to 30. The program offers participants silence and interior prayer to help them encounter God and gain spiritual self-knowledge.

The retreat begins with dinner on Thursday, September 24, and ends after breakfast on Wednesday, September 30. Registration costs 45 euros and is open to anyone interested in contemplative silence. D'Cunha, a missionary originally from Bombay, India, currently lives in Spain and draws on her experience living in Japan for over 15 years to incorporate various meditation traditions into her Christian contemplative practice.

During the exercises, group silence is a central daily activity. D'Cunha uses a brief guide to help participants enter stillness and focus on the presence of God. She follows the teachings of Santa Teresa de Jesús and San Juan de la Cruz to help people discover the divine presence within themselves.
