Catedral de Santiago abre sus puertas al Te Deum Ecuménico 2026

Santiago Cathedral hosted the 2026 Ecumenical Te Deum on September 18 to mark the 216th anniversary of the Primera Junta Nacional de Gobierno. Cardinal Fernando Chomali, Archbishop of Santiago, presided over the liturgy, which serves as a prayer of thanks for Chile and its people.

The ceremony included representatives from various Christian confessions, as well as members of the Jewish and Muslim communities. The event marks the formal start of the institutional acts for Fiestas Patrias, preceding the Parada Militar on September 19.

Before the formal start, the Coro del Arzobispado, the Orfeón Nacional de Carabineros de chile, the Coro Bizantino San Damasceno, Voces Claretianas, and the Escuela performed.
