Catholic Bishop in Angola Decries Child Abduction, Exploitation Risks in Border Region

Bishop Vicente Carlos Kiaziku of the Diocese of Mbanza Congo warned that children being abducted in Angola's Zaire Province face risks of organ trafficking, prostitution, and modern slavery. During a Mass at Our Lady of the Conception Cathedral on September 27, the bishop addressed reports of children being taken across the border into the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Kiaziku stated that protecting minors from these threats is a collective responsibility that extends beyond individual families and government institutions to include the entire community. He urged families, authorities, and society to remain vigilant to prevent the exploitation of children living in abandonment.
