Catholic Communities Caring for God’s Creation

Catholic communities are observing the Season of Creation, which begins with the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation on September 1 and concludes on October 4 with the feast of St. Francis of Assisi.

Pope Francis described the period as a time for individual believers and communities to reaffirm their personal calling to act as stewards of creation and to offer thanks.
