Про важливість дияконського служіння

The Eparchy of Saint Nicholas of Chicago (Ukrainian) released a reflection on the importance of the diaconate ministry within the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.

Father Roman stated that every ministry in the Church is unique because each gift and calling comes from the Holy Spirit. He noted that while the Church has various callings and responsibilities, they share the single goal of building the Body of Christ and serving God's people.

The reflection traces the history of the diaconate to the early Christian community described in the Acts of the Apostles. Father Roman explained that when the first community needed specific service, the apostles chose men full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom to serve the community, including Saint Stephen. He noted that this biblical text is traditionally linked to the historical development of the diaconate ministry.
