Patriarch Hovannes Paul II delivered a message at Zvartnots International Airport during his first visit to Armenia as the Bishop of Rome.

In his address, the Patriarch expressed gratitude to the Armenian government, civil and military authorities, and the diplomatic corps for welcoming him. He also extended greetings to Catholicos Karekin II and the Armenian Church. The Patriarch noted that his respect and friendship extend to both Armenians living in Armenia and the millions in the diaspora who remain faithful to their identity and heritage.
