The Pope noted that while technological developments, social media, and artificial intelligence offer new ways to overcome distances and barriers, they carry the risk of turning relationships into virtual communication that lacks a personal dimension. He warned against letting algorithms make decisions that must remain the responsibility of human conscience.

He explained that human growth and the development of society are linked, as people naturally need social life and serve as the foundation for social institutions. He also described diversity among people and nations as a source of enrichment rather than a threat.
