Patriarch Hovhannes Paul II delivered farewell remarks at Zvartnots Airport to thank Armenian officials and Church leaders for their hospitality during his visit.

The Patriarch expressed gratitude to President Kocharyan and government members for their welcome. He also thanked civil and military officials, media representatives, and staff for their assistance during the visit.

Addressing the Armenian Apostolic Church, the Patriarch thanked the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos, the clergy, and the faithful for the spirit of brotherhood and communion shared during his stay. He specifically mentioned Archbishop Nerses, Archbishop Vardan, and Bishop Giuseppe.

The Patriarch noted that the Pope keeps the Armenian people in his heart and offered prayers for strength to face future challenges. He concluded by expressing hope that followers of Christ will grow in trust and ecumenical friendship as they move toward the third millennium.
