«Мудрість собі дім збудувала»: історія семінарії, яку творили і творять люди

The Holy Spirit Lviv Theological Seminary celebrated 20 years since its relocation from Rudne to Lviv with a Divine Liturgy led by Major Archbishop Sviatoslav Shevchuk. The anniversary event included a conference where Bishop Emeritus Hlib Lonchyna, former seminary directors, architects, and engineers shared memories of the institution's development.

The celebration highlighted the seminary's origins in the 1990s, a period when the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church was rebuilding its structure following the Soviet era. Father Bohdan Prah noted that the project began during a deep economic crisis in Ukraine, which caused shortages of building materials and funding. Despite these challenges, the Church sought a new location and a concept to provide a material base for training priests.

During the conference, Archbishop and Metropolitan of Lviv Ihor Shemaiko opened the proceedings with prayer and a blessing. He spoke about the importance of training pastors to lead the faithful with wisdom and justice. Addressing the seminarians, he stated that their education must continue throughout their lives rather than ending when they leave the seminary.
