Catholic Men in Ghana Urged to Embrace Responsibility in Family, Church and Society

Bishop Anthony Narh Asare urged members of the Accra Archdiocesan Catholic Men’s Association to act as spiritual leaders within their families, the Church, and society. Speaking at the association's first annual congress at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Kaneshie on September 21, the auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Accra told men to raise children who know and love Christ.

Bishop Narh Asare said Catholic husbands should love their wives through self-giving love, while fathers should teach their children to pray, bring them to Mass, and model the Gospel in daily life. He also called for men to apply Christian integrity to business, politics, public service, education, professional work, traditional leadership, and community development.

To strengthen their spiritual lives, the bishop encouraged members to participate in the sacraments, specifically noting the importance of attending Sunday Mass and receiving the Eucharist frequently. He concluded by calling for respect and friendship among association members to ensure everyone feels included.
