Catholic Ministries Appeal launches with goal of $4.5 million

The Diocese of Scranton has launched its 2026-27 Catholic Ministries Appeal with a fundraising goal of $4.5 million. This campaign marks the 40th annual appeal for the diocese.

The appeal follows a long tradition of stewardship that began as the Bishop’s Annual Appeal before transitioning to the Diocesan Annual Appeal and eventually the current Catholic Ministries Appeal. The diocese maintains that while the name and structure have changed over four decades, the purpose of the fundraising remains the same.
