Diocese of Terni–Narni–Amelia celebrates Feast of the Precious Blood

The Diocese of Terni–Narni–Amelia celebrated the feast of the Precious Blood on Sunday, September 27, at the Terni Cathedral. Diocesan administrator Matteo Antonelli presided over the Mass, which was concelebrated by cathedral parish priest Alessandro Rossini.

During the homily, Antonelli noted that the relic of the blood of Jesus is venerated at the cathedral and remains present through the memorial of the Eucharistic sacrifice. He said the blood represents an obedience to God that leads to the sacrifice on the cross, urging the faithful to act as Jesus did.

The celebration included families, catechism students, parish groups, and civil and military authorities. At the end of the liturgy, Antonelli blessed the congregation with the relic of the Precious Blood. This relic was donated to the city church by Cardinal Francesco Rapaccioli in 1650.
